Making Arrangements for the Start of School in September

Dear readers, I took this year's gaokao; though my score is not high, it is enough to apply to medical school. Starting this September, I will enter a full-time medical college to study on a full-time basis. Normally I will attend classes at school, and only have time to be with family on weekends and holidays. Medical studies are heavy, and it is basically impossible to still have the energy to take on new work, while various chronic illnesses all require long-term, continuous care. So in the next few years I will no longer have the time or energy to do this ongoing work.

So as not to disrupt my studies or delay others' recovery, I have decided, starting now, to stop accepting any new work and only maintain care for some existing relatives, friends, and fellow patients and their families. I do not know how many years this process will last—maybe three, maybe seven—and it depends entirely on when I finish my studies and on future arrangements.

Though school has not started for about two months, I still have many bridging study tasks to complete—for example, high-school math, physics, chemistry, and biology. Before the gaokao I actually had no time even to finish the first round of review, especially in physics. Now I must finish the parts I had not completed before the exam, so this summer vacation will still be busy. Lately I have also been attending AI industry exchange meetings in Beijing and have gained a lot. The rapid development of AI has given me a new understanding of medicine's future; this summer I will also spend some effort learning AI application technology. In the coming years I will apply AI technology more frequently in study and work to raise efficiency. This is an irresistible trend; one should not fall behind the times.

After the gaokao I did a lot of thinking and finally decided that this year I will still choose clinical medicine as my first choice rather than a TCM major. Because over a decade of apprenticeship plus my own reading has already given me a very solid TCM foundation; going to a TCM major to rehash old material would mean little. Medicine is a very vast world, and I still have strong curiosity; I want to look into every field of medicine. Of course, the final admission result is not something I can control; whichever result comes, I will accept.

I actually wanted to make such arrangements back in 2023, but was hampered by too much work and could hardly get away; now I have no choice but to get away. I hope everyone understands and forgives me. As for writing, I will try my best to keep it up.
