The Baiyin Serial Murders, Reflections on the Classics-Reciting Boy, and More
Thanks to DNA technology and a few coincidental factors, the Baiyin serial murder case, unsolved for 28 years, recently found a suspect, and public opinion erupted in a furor. Long out of the habit of following the news, I followed this story and read my way through nearly all of China's serial murder cases of recent years, reading reports on cold-blooded killers such as Bai Baoshan, Yang Xinhai, and Zhang Yongming. It gave me the creeps.
