No Work or Article Updates on Weekends and Holidays Going Forward
Going forward, I will slow down my pace even further and lighten my burden. I will no longer work or update articles on weekends and holidays. I hope fellow patients will stop consulting me on weekends. My working hours on weekdays are set at 8:30–12:30 in the morning and 2:30–6:30 in the afternoon; outside these hours I will not be working.
In recent years I have been in a state of chronic overwork, under enormous work and study pressure. Because the patient population I serve is very special—most of them are cancer patients who must face life and death directly, and some also have fairly serious psychological problems—I have over-consumed myself in work and life and long remained in a sub-health state. So now I must also make a series of adjustments to my own life and work, so that my mental and physical condition is better. Only in this way can I keep doing the work I love and care for my loved ones for longer.
I used to set my expectations for myself too high, and I was not good at setting boundaries when getting along with others, which easily left me trapped in states that ordinary people could not bear. In fact this was irrational; one day I myself would not have been able to endure it. After going through this car accident, I also realized that I am only a being of flesh and blood. Over-burdening myself with other people's pain and worries will only leave me overwhelmed.
So from now on, I too must have my own boundaries, have times when I rest completely, and learn to put down the physical and mental burdens I cannot bear, balancing work and rest. I hope everyone can understand!
