I Will Be Away from Beijing for About a Week, and Will Refocus My Work on Return

At the end of this month I will leave Beijing for a week. During this week I have plans to go abroad; during this time WeChat may not log in normally, and the various work matters in Beijing will have to be suspended for a week. Please do not come to Beijing looking for me this week. I am very sorry for the inconvenience this causes everyone, and I hope you will forgive me.

After returning from this trip out of Beijing, my work focus will undergo an adjustment. I will once again concentrate on cancer research, and try to maintain relatively high-quality writing. Over the past period, my attention has been pulled away by many things (mainly exam preparation), and my demands on myself have slackened a little. After several months, I often feel that I am wasting my life and letting time slip by, and I feel quite out of sorts.

Previously, every day I persisted in reading various medical literature, and my reading time was long; every day I could feel that I had made new gains, and my mind and body were at ease. Over the last six months, most of my time has been spent on problem drills, without enough time to read and write. Over a long period, I feel I have become much more hollow, and my writing can no longer flow as smoothly as before. Therefore I will adjust my learning goals, spend more time reading various monographs related to the life sciences, and continue to practice, think and summarize within this field. Although I still have to take exams, I will lower the exam-preparation goal to the minimum level, because although exams are necessary, they are truly the least important thing in life.

During this coming week, because I am on the journey and many things are inconvenient, I do not plan to carry my computer with me. My writing may be interrupted for a few days; the blog and the WeChat official account will both stop updating, and I may also find it difficult to guarantee timely replies to patients' consultations. If you have a question to ask and I cannot reply in time, please wait patiently; when it is convenient for me, I will certainly reply as soon as possible.

Wishing all readers and fellow patients a peaceful summer.
