Following the principle proposed in the general discussion of this book, that homologous formulas and homologous medicinal herbs can be assembled into large‑compound prescriptions, the author compiles common TCM formulas and medicinal substances by category for clinical formula‑composition reference. This section covers homologous prescriptions for neurological disorders. To conserve space, formula descriptions are kept concise, focusing primarily on their indications.

Since the author’s medical reference books are kept at home, access to domestic literature is limited during campus study. Accordingly, the writing schedule of this book has been adjusted appropriately. Indications: Timidity and susceptibility to fright, dizziness, palpitations, restlessness and insomnia, frequent strange dreams; or nausea, hiccup, vertigo, epilepsy. Tongue: white‑greasy coating; pulse: string‑slippery. Angong Niuhuang Pill Ingredients: Bovis Calculus, Cornu Bubali Concentrated Powder, Moschus Artificialis, Margarita, Cinnabaris, Realgar, Coptidis Rhizoma, Scutellariae Radix, Gardeniae Fructus, Curcumae Radix, Borneolum Syntheticum. Indications: Sequelae of stroke. Improper use may induce hypothermia.

Hupo Baolong Pill (Succinum Dragon‑Protecting Pill) Ingredients: Succinum, processed Arisaematis Rhizoma, Bambusae Concretio Silicea, Scorpio. Actions: Clear heat, resolve phlegm, extinguish wind and arrest convulsions. Treat epilepsy and infantile convulsions.

Zhuangyuan Pill (Scholar‑Achievement Pill) Ingredients: Acori Tatarinowii Rhizoma (prefer nine‑joint rhizome) 30 g, Lycii Cortex 30 g, Poria cum Radix Pini 30 g, Polygalae Radix (processed with licorice‑water, remove core) 30 g, Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma 15 g, Morindae Officinalis Radix 15 g. Grind above into powder. Take Poria 60 g and polished round‑grained rice 60 g and pulverize together. Indications: Blood deficiency failing to nourish tendons plus phlegm obstructing collaterals: left‑sided hemianesthesia, dysarthria, salivation. Its indications correspond mainly to modern‑medicine stroke sequelae from cerebral hemorrhage or cerebral infarction; especially suitable for ischemic stroke and its aftermath.

Wulong Pill (Black Dragon Pill) Ingredients: one complete Zaocys (remove head‑tail, cut into ~6 cm segments, lightly pounded, soak in wine overnight, peel and remove bones, bake dry), Schizonepetae Spica 120 g, Menthae Haplocalycis Herba juice, Clematidis Radix et Rhizoma 120 g (collect only fine root hairs, quick‑wash in warm water, avoid heating, sun‑dry). Preparation: Grind above medicinals into fine powder.
